An Introduction To Chemical Smile

Q: So please tell us, who are Chemical Smile?

A: We are Chemical Smile, we come from a mundane seaside town called Worthing by the sea of the o’ so great Britannia. We’re three people who’ve known each other since we were basically in nappies and share a collective love of music…and a collective hate of it.

Q: What can we expect to hear, and when?

A: It’s hard to pin-down exactly what our sound is, but it’s basically a blend of 60’s rock and psychedelic, 80’s indie, 90’s britpop, and all with a modern twist. Like The Smiths having a party with The 13th Floor Elevators when all of a sudden Liam Gallagher bursts in trying to start a fight, but it’s too late because Queens of The Stone Age have turned up and are threatening to lay Gallagher out, but Gallagher’s having none of it, so he calls up The Stone Roses who bounce in giving it all the mouth, but by this point Josh Homme is angry and the Elevators are cowering in the corner, and just by matter of perfect timing John Lennon strolls in and calms everyone down talking about peace and all that jazz.

We will be in the studio tomorrow (Sunday 16th) to record. So by Sunday evening/ Monday morning, all ears will have the pleasure to be blessed by such grace. Patience is a virtue ladies and gentlemen.

Q: It’s 30 years in the future, the band have split, who’s doing what?

Tom will be playing drums for some cool, hip, up-and-coming band. Liam will be creating atonal sound collages for black and white movies. Simon will be pursuing a career as a rockabilly singer, subsequently hiring Liam and Tom to play guitar and drums for it, respectively.

About

Avatar Chemical Smile are an eclectic three-piece hailing from the south coast of the British Isles, blending the sonic sounds of late 60's Garage and Psychedelic rock n roll, with the angst and swagger of classic indie acts. Born out of the apathy of youth they combine soul-stomping melodies with quirky riffs and interrogating lyric, Chemical Smile's idiosyncratic sound make them a unique performance, and ones to watch out for.
